Beatrice app testing.

Here is your video that you uploaded to your YouTube account at 4096x2160. There are black bars in the embed and at full screen:

Here is a video I made that is in the correct  16:9 ratio, no black bars.

New video you mentioned in the 11:16am email (looks fixed!):

Hey there Beta testers! Thanks for your help. We’re currently testing v2.0(2) via Test Flight. Scroll down for latest test instructions.

General Setup Info

︎ Install the test app. You’ll get an email invitaiton from Test Flight which is Apple’s built-in testing platform. Click on the link in the email from your iPhone. Follow the instructions to install TestFlight as well as the test app.

︎ Beatrice App login credentials. When prompted in the app, use the email address we used to invite you in step 1 and your client ID is “1234”.

︎ Technical requirements. iPhone 5s or newer running iOS 12 or later

︎ What our app does. Our clients use our app to record a body scan and upload it to our server.

Each scan consists of 6 videos:
  • Four 360 degree videos around the body, each about 45 seconds long
  • Two videos under the arms, each about 15 seconds long

When you run our tests, you can record videos of anything (doesn’t need to be of a person), just make sure they are at least as long as described above. When prompted for a waist measurement, put a dummy number in, decimal is ok.

v2.0(2) Testing (Active)

︎ Purpose of today’s testing. This revision is to address two issues: first is to prevent auto-lock from turning the screen off during video capture and the second is to work around a crash that occurs after putting the app in the background while actively recording a scan video.

︎ Setup: set auto-lock to 30seconds in Settings.

︎ Tests you can run.

Test 1. Record 1 or 2 scans (remember: each scan will consist of 6 videos as described above.) Upload with your credentials.

Test 2. Send app to background and return app to foreground while video is being recorded. Verify error message appears about interruption (”One of your videos was interrupted”). Complete 1 scan and upload

Test 3. Send app to background and return app to foreground multiple times while video is being recorded. Verify error message appears about interruption. Complete 1 scan and upload

Test 4. Send app to background and return app to foreground while video is being recorded. Restart the scan using the “Start over” button. Complete 1 scan and upload

v2.0(1) Testing (finished)

*** We need your results (submitted via our survey) by 11am Mountain tomorrow 8/31/20. ***

︎ Purpose of today’s testing. The current revision is intended to fix a rare but critical failure where users were unable to upload their scans, resulting in a loss of data. We know there are lots of ways we can improve usability (major redesign coming in the next few months) but this test is only to root out major issues/crashes that would prevent the user from uploading a scan.

︎ Tests you can run. You can run one test (totally fine!) or as many as you’d like.

Test 1. Record 1 or 2 scans (remember: each scan will consist of 6 videos as described above.) Upload with your credentials.

Test 2. Record 1 or 2 scans. When prompted to upload your scans, kill the app. Relaunch the app and upload the scan(s).

Test 3. Record 1 or 2 scans. When prompted to upload your scans, put the phone down or run a different app. In an hour or so, return to app (you may need to relaunch) and upload the scan(s).

Test 4. Record 1 or 2 scans. Upload while walking in/out of the edge of your wifi range. Wait for the upload to complete (it will take longer than normal).

Test 5. Record 1 or 2 scans. Turn off wifi on your phone. Attempt to upload. Choose "Upload later". Relaunch the app and upload the scan(s).

︎ Report your results. Click here to report your results.

  THANK YOU! YOU ROCK!!
